Anyone who has a hobby that involves sitting down – like online gaming – will know this: six hours on the sofa can quickly pass without moving. Your health will thank you if you do some sport to compensate. With a little motivation, it will work.
Chess, pottery, gaming: many hobbies are done while sitting. If you sit a lot at work or move one-sidedly due to your job, it is twice as difficult to integrate regular exercise into your everyday life.
Couch potatoes and people who do not move enough and sit a lot have a higher risk of back pain and other muscular problems such as tension, neck pain or shoulder pain . Diseases of the cardiovascular system are also more likely.
The WHO recommends that everyone do about 21 minutes of moderate exercise every day , or about 150 minutes a week. A short walk every day and two small exercises in between already meet the minimum requirement.
